Cannabutter Recipe

Cannabutter – Ganja Butter – Special Brownies – Space Cake – Pot Brownie Recipe – Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe – Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Ingredients for Cannabutter

  • 1 lb unsalted butter to each 1 oz of weed
  • 2 cups of water.

Preparation for making Cannabutter

  • Grind the cannabis to a very fine powder – a coffee grinder is good for this

How to Make Cannabutter

  • Bring the water to the boil with the pan covered
  • Add the butter and let it melt in the water
  • When the butter has melted turn down the heat and cover the pan
  • Allow to simmer but do not boil
  • Take the pan from the heat
  • Add the ground weed to the mixture in the pan and whisk it thoroughly
  • Once you are sure there are no lumps or pieces stuck to the bottom of the pan put back on the heat
  • Simmer for up to 24 hours but no longer – you could transfer to a slow cooker/crock pot for this part
  • If you leave the mixture heating for longer than the 24 hours the butter will just become bitter and the THC will be destroyed
  • Place muslin or cheese cloth over a glass bowl and strain the solution through the cloth into the bowl
  • Squeeze the gunk that’s left in the cloth to ensure that you get as much THC laden butter out
  • Cool the cannabutter mixture in the refrigerator for a couple of hours at least, overnight is best, until the fat separates from the water
  • Remove the slab of fat that has formed on top of the liquid; this is your cannabutter
  • Dry the cannabutter using paper towels then wrap in plastic wrap, squeezing it into a more manageable size
  • Store in an airtight container and freeze
  • Use in all your favourite recipes
